Ayyub, also known as Job, was a prophet of Allah who lived in the land of Uz, believed to be in the vicinity of modern-day Iraq. He is known for his steadfastness and patience in severe affliction and suffering.


Ayyub was a wealthy and prosperous man who lived a comfortable life with his family and was deeply devoted to Allah. However, one day, Satan challenged Allah, saying that Ayyub's faith was not sincere and that he only worshiped Allah because of his prosperity. Allah allowed Satan to test Ayyub's confidence, and Satan afflicted Ayyub with a series of calamities.


Ayyub's wealth was destroyed, his children died, and he was struck with a painful illness that caused him great suffering. Despite these afflictions, Ayyub remained patient and steadfast in his faith, refusing to curse Allah and maintaining his belief in His mercy and justice.


Ayyub's story is recorded in the Book of Job in the Old Testament and mentioned in the Quran. Ayyub's steadfastness and faithfulness in the face of suffering are highlighted in both texts, and he is held up as an example of unwavering devotion to Allah.


After enduring his trials, Allah rewarded Ayyub by restoring his wealth and blessing him with a new family. Ayyub's story serves as a testament to the power of faith and the importance of perseverance in the face of adversity.
